And so it begins...

I'm not ready for this. I thought I had plenty of time to get mentally ready for this challenge, but in 2 days the sign up will begin to start training for a mmmmmm...marathon. There I said the "m" word.

The story goes like this. At the end of my husband's fourth marathon, I said, "I bet not only could I finish a marathon, but I'd beat you to the finish." He laughed. He knows me. Then said, "you're on."

That was in February, and now I'm about to start training in 2 days. I haven't even bought running shoes yet. I don't even own tennis shoes with laces. I have a pair of slip ons that I bought for when we go camping, but that's the extent of my casual shoe wardrobe. I'm much more comfortable in my exquisite, sparkly 2 1/2 in. heels.

However, running a marathon is serious business. The training group I'll be with lasts for 6 months and will supposedly help me get to the finish line. I just hope I can cross it.
